I purchased this hard shell case for my iPod Touch 2g about a month ago. It comes with three pieces: two interlocking plastic pieces that the iPod slides into - these protect the back metal and the front edges. And a clear plastic protective sheet for the iPod screen. The plastic sheet can be a bit of a challenge to affix to the screen - air bubbles, getting the plastic to sit just right and not smudging the screen while applying it are all things to watch out for. The screen protector has not affected touch screen operations at all - it's like it is not even there.
An earlier review suggested the the plastic pieces covering the back of the iPod can scratch the easily scratched metal. So far, that has not been the case for me after a month of use.
I wasn't sure that I really needed this case. After using it for a month, I see the value of it. I certainly feel like I can use and store my iPod Touch without having to be overly careful with it.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND !!!

I've had this case for over 2 months now and it is perfect for what I want. The top section is a hard plastic that protects the sides and back while the bottom black section has a rubbery feel to it. The screen cover is easy to install if you take your time and line up the home button cut out correctly, otherwise you'll have to try again. The only problem I have had is using a cassette audio adapter for my car. The hole in the case for the earpiece connector is too close to the back part of the iPod, not allowing some plugs to insert fully. The car adapter I have has a 90 degree plug so it doesn't seat fully. I went to Wal-Mart and found a package set of adapters for $20 that had a 3 inch extension specifically for the new iPod's. Now everything is great. My headset fits perfectly and I can hook up in my car just fine. I don't have any audio gear with an iPod dock, but assume you would have to remove the bottom section of the case for it to fit properly.
Fits perfectly, no scratching (so far), and looks great.

Had it for about a week now. It's not bulky and fits perfectly leaving perfect access to all the buttons and connections. Only thing is that when docking to your iHome or anything that requires docking - you need to remove the bottom to fit.
The screen protector that comes with the case goes on nicely and easily too. No bubbles or dust... it took me 30 minutes to do it, only because I wanted to make sure it fit perfectly with the home button and no bubbling occurred.
Definitely a must have for your ipod touch. Get it now!

The purpose of this message is not to critique the product but to tell you that if you have a problem, Griffin will stand behind its product. I had a problem with this product. When I called Griffin, I expected to be ignored. However, Catherine told me to email her a picture of the problem (and not to send it back) and that she would send me an acceptable replacement of my choosing. That's how you treat your customers. Kudos to Griffin and Catherine of Technical Support.
Perfect

I wanted a hard case for my iPod Touch and looked around for a while. I settled on this b/c of the good reviews and I really like it. It is sturdy but lightweight and the design is low-key. The ipod fits very very snug into the case so it really just seems like part of the ipod.
